She is currently the Executive Director of Texas Brazos Trail Region, a Waco City Council Member, for District 1; a former Mayor Pro tem of The City of Waco, TX; She sits on many boards, subcommittees, and tasks forces where she serves in leadership roles such as :
the Waco ISD Foundation Board, Creative Waco Cultural Arts Task Force, NAACP Executive Committee 2nd Vice President and Economic Engagement Chair, Waco Civic Theatre Board, Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce Economic Development subcommittee, Texas Downtown Association, and the Community Visioning Board. She is a proud member of the Waco Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and Jack and Jill of America, Inc.
